First successful installation for Quandela

IncubAlliance is present at CES Las Vegas 2018 from January 9 to 12, 2018, at the booth of Paris Region Enterprises, the agency for the international attractiveness of the Île-de-France region.

Quandela, a startup originating from the Center for Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies (C2N, CNRS – Univ. Paris Sud) and founded by Pascale Senellart, Niccolo Somaschi, and Valérian Giesz, specializes in the design and manufacture of high-performance, compact solutions for the development of quantum technologies. It has just reached a new milestone: the installation of its first eDelight product in Australia. This initial international success only confirms the promise of this young company, established just over a year ago.

When we interviewed him last December, just after Quandela had won the Challenge+ Grand Prize, Niccolo Somaschi, one of the startup's three co-founders, explained that Quandela's initial ambition was to target research laboratories working on the development of quantum technologies. This first result seems to have achieved that goal!

It was Professor Andrew White, a member of the Australian Academy of Sciences and a pioneer in the development of quantum optical technologies, who called upon the startup's services – and in particular its eDelight solution – for his research group.« eDelight is a unique photon source with very high brightness. This component emits, at a record rate of several MHz, light pulses that never contain more than one photon. »" explains Valérian Giesz, co-founder of Quandela. A point that is a priori crucial for accelerating the development of new emerging applications of quantum optics.
