IncubAlliance is participating in SpaceConnect'21

IncubAlliance Paris-Saclay will participate in SpaceConnect'21, the space-focused convention organised by the SpaceCon association, which will be held on June 24 at the Meudon Centre for Art and Culture.

Bringing together the space sector's entrepreneurial ecosystem in a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere: this is the goal of SpaceConnect'21, which will be held this year at the Meudon Art and Culture Center on June 24. Following a first event organized in 2019 that brought together students, researchers, entrepreneurs, incubators, accelerators, investors, and institutions in the field for a forum, this new event is enriched this year with several highlights, most notably a pitch contest in which IncubAlliance will participate as a jury member. This is an opportunity for the Paris-Saclay technology incubator, which includes several space-focused startups, to strengthen its involvement in a rapidly evolving sector.

« When we organized our first forum in 2019, we were truly committed to enabling the various players in the space ecosystem not only to meet but also to exchange ideas freely, directly, and in a friendly manner, thereby creating new connections. »,« explains Pierre Cordesse, co-founder of SpaceCon and organizer of the event. A distinctive, inclusive approach, resulting in an event that is both B2B and B2C, which has clearly won everyone over, as evidenced by the results of the first edition.« In the wake of this event, project leaders were able to find support structures, students were recruited by start-ups, and research collaborations were initiated between academics and industry. »" he adds.

Building on this initial success, the organizers decided to repeat the experience, enriching it with new activities. Thus, in addition to the traditional newspace forum, renamed Space Connect, hosting some thirty booths – including that of IncubAlliance! – inspiring testimonials from leaders, including the presidents of CNES and ONERA, who will take turns throughout the day, and the two major round tables, two new highlights will be offered this year: a video game competition, the Kerbal Space Program, and a pitch competition, the Pitch Contest, pitting around ten teams against each other before a jury of leaders from the space industry, including Philippe Moreau, director of IncubAlliance.

« Newspace is definitely a theme that we see gaining momentum, including within our incubator, which now boasts several promising projects specializing in this field. It is therefore perfectly natural for us to support and participate in these kinds of events. »" explains Philippe Moreau. A commitment that will immediately translate into action, since the winner of the Pitch Contest in the category In progress will be able to benefit from support from IncubAlliance to accelerate its development.
