IncubAlliance hosts a delegation from CENTTECH

On October 27, IncubAlliance hosted a delegation from its partner, Centech Mtl, accompanied by six Canadian startups, visiting Paris-Saclay. This initial meeting demonstrates the strength of the partnership established last May between the two incubators.

It was at the Playground, where IncubAlliance's offices are located, that a Quebec delegation, led by CENTECH Mtl and on a multi-day mission to France, decided to stop on Thursday, October 27, during their visit to Paris-Saclay. A morning full of meetings and discussions was made possible thanks to the memorandum of understanding signed last May between the two incubators, one in Saclay and the other in Montreal.

Opening new markets for Quebec and French startups, sharing expertise, organizing missions and business exchanges, pooling resources and support programs: these were some of the objectives stated in the memorandum of understanding signed between Centech and IncubAlliance Paris-Saclay at the 2022 edition of SPRING PARIS-SACLAY. These objectives are taking shape as the months go by, as evidenced by IncubAlliance's support of a Quebec startup executive in his exploration of the French market, the inclusion of Spin Ion Technologies, a Saclay-based startup, in a Centech program, and the hosting of a delegation of Quebec startups specializing in aerospace technology at IncubAlliance.

« When, as part of our economic mission to France, we decided to stop in Paris-Saclay, it was only natural that we turned to our partners at IncubAlliance to organize this day. Thanks to their invaluable help, we not only received a very warm welcome at the heart of the magnificent Playground, but our startups were also able to benefit from highly effective networking opportunities, in small groups, with key players such as...’IRT System X, the Systematic and ASTech clusters, and EDF »,” explains Julian Lucchesi, director of strategic partnerships at Centech. Three Quebec start-ups were able to pitch their projects to teams from Total Énergie, before everyone gathered for a friendly cocktail reception where numerous contacts were made.

« We can only welcome this type of joint initiative, which allows us to calmly begin building the bridge between our two ecosystems, Paris-Saclay and Greater Montreal. »,” testifies Frédéric Capmas, head of the Deeptech Alliance Paris-Saclay Program at IncubAlliance. A bridge that is set to be further strengthened in the coming weeks with the meeting, scheduled for the end of November, between the managing directors of the two incubators, to work together on developing a joint roadmap.
