Kevin Piette, a paraplegic since a motorcycle accident, was able to walk with his hands free and carry the Olympic flame thanks to the exoskeleton designed by Wandercraft, a start-up that went through IncubAlliance Paris-Saclay.

Enabling wheelchair users to walk: this was the audacious challenge set by the founders of the startup Wandercraft, a graduate of IncubAlliance Paris-Saclay. A few years later, the challenge has been met, as evidenced by Kevin Piette's relay of the Olympic torch in the Yvelines region. Piette, paraplegic since a motorcycle accident, has become an exoskeleton pilot for Wandercraft, a company considered a world leader in autonomous exoskeletons.

It's for moments like these that we love the Olympic Games: on Tuesday, July 23, the crowd gathered in Poissy to watch the Olympic torch relay didn't see a star, but rather Kevin Piette, equipped with the Wandercraft exoskeleton. Paralyzed from the waist down following a motorcycle accident 11 years ago, he now works as a tester for Wandercraft, developing this unique exoskeleton designed to help disabled people walk again.

This is an achievement that the founders of Wandercraft can be proud of, having spared no effort for over 10 years to advance their company and realize their dream. After several series of clinical trials in the Paris region and at the APAJH Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Center in Auvergne, during which people with complete paraplegia were able to stand for the first time, and the successful completion of several fundraising rounds, Wandercraft is now considered the world leader in the design of autonomous exoskeletons.

The entire IncubAlliance Paris-Saclay team congratulates them, is delighted with the immense progress made and wishes Wandercraft a long and successful journey.
